“Soup pasta, given this name thanks to its crooked little pieces", as storto means crooked in English. To this definition extracted from the Vocabolario dell’Uso Toscano (Tuscan Dictionary) of 1863, we add that our stortini also have holes. They are a sort of sliced bucatino in slightly bent pieces.
Often prepared in broth, stortini are wonderful with creamy vegetables soups or bean soups.
